Update!

Ok so I'm not sure if you all know that the weekend of our reunion the school is having a All Class reunion as well! Mr. Palmer, Deanne's dad, is planning everything for the all class reunion and sent me a email with the schedule for what he is planning. So I'm thinking we will just work around what he is planning and do a activity that is just for our class! Please all look at the schedule and see when we should have a dinner or breakfast! PLEASE RESPOND ASAP so I can finish the planning!

Thank you all!!!!

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS FOR THE

THATCHER HIGH SCHOOL ALL-ALUMNI REUNION

To be held on September 24-25th, 2010

Friday, September 24th

1:30pm – Homecoming Assembly at the Thatcher High School

2:30pm – Homecoming parade

3:30 – 5:00pm - Reunion registration at the High School

4:00 – 7:00pm – Available for individual classes, or groups, to have own reunion gatherings (dinners, etc.)

7:00pm – Homecoming football game (EAC Mickelson Stadium)

9:00pm – Ice Cream Social at High School (Eat & visit with Alumni, spouses, teachers, ex-teachers, etc.)

Saturday, September 25th

(Some groups or classes may want to arrange their own breakfast gatherings.)

9:00 - 10:00am - Late registration, and gathering at High School

10:00am – Variety Show and Program (Talent from Alumni, recognition and awards for many of the Alumni present, etc.)

Noon – Lunch at the High School (Outside if the weather is pleasant.)

1:30 – 4:30pm – Individual class (or decade) gatherings or activities. (Rooms will be available at the High School, or some may want to go to the Hot Springs, tour the Museum – i.e. the old high school, etc.)

5:00pm – BBQ Dinner for Alumni and community

6:00pm – Auction of items donated by Alumni and others (The money raised would go directly to the Thatcher Scholarship Foundation.)

6:00 – 7:00pm – Alumni Volleyball game (Public invited to the game, but the Alumni would get in free.)

7:00 – 8:00pm – Alumni Basketball game, and the conclusion of the auction results.

Note: The exact schedules are subject to some modifications, but this is basically what the reunion will be. It is hoped that the Foundation will be able to sponsor this “All-Alumni” reunion every 10 years.

Registration for the Reunion is: $30/individual, or $50/couple (This would cover the Football Game, the Ice-Cream Social, Lunch on Saturday, BBQ dinner, the Alumni VB and BB games.) Any money over the above items, and expenses, will go directly to the Thatcher Scholarship Foundation. We are hoping for other donations to the Foundation; and, along with any money raised at the auction, many future graduates and teachers will be able to further their own educations with the scholarships that the Foundation can give.

At this point, we are just trying to spread the word about the reunion and have people put the dates on their calendars. We are asking everyone to send in their e-mail information by e-mailing: thatcheralumni@gmail.com By doing this, they will be added to the mailing list – and then we’ll keep them posted on the further details (like where to send in registration money, etc.)

PLEASE FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO ANY ALUMNI YOU KNOW, AND PLEASE SEND THIS INFORMATION ON THROUGH ANY MEANS AVAILABLE!! (Facebook, twitter, telephone, snail-mail, etc.) THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!!

  1. Wow there is not really much time for us to do our own thing. Kind of a bummer.

  2. Kari we can find a time! We don't have to do everything he has planned! What do you think?

  3. Ya I kinda was hoping to just get our class together and hang out and get to catch up with everyone. And not have 1000 other people there. What do you think Ruthy? I don't think doing anything from 4-7pm on the night of homecoming is practical, since we will all be trying to get our families ready for the game and it's kinda early. What if we did our own thing on Saturday night at the school? Is that available? Let me know what you think Ruthy. I'm just throwin' out ideas.

  4. So I'm with Hope and Kari. I don't think there is much time for the "Class of 2000" to really shine and be recognized. That's really too bad since the All Alumni people have already had their own special 10 year reunions and we haven't. I also was hoping to get to see people from our own class and not all super mingled with everyone who has EVER gone to high school in Thatcher. But with that said, I don't know a good resolve...Rescheduling probably isn't an option since there is only one Homecoming. Kinda a bummer.

  5. I totally agree with you all! I'm ok if we do our own dinner Saturday night but the thing is we will need to find a different location then the HS cause it will be used. I still have Casa booked to cater but now I'm not sure where we could do it at. I'm thinking maybe the old cafeteria at the middle school, I will see if that is an option. Also for those people who want to do all the All Class reunion stuff thats $50 for a couple and then they would have to pay more for our own dinner Saturday night. I don't know if people would be willing to pay for both. Make sense? I love everyone's input! Thanks a bunch! I will keep you all posted on what I figure out!!!

  6. Hey! I am checking into some places for the Sat. Dinner. My dad also said that anyone who wants to do other things for the all school reunion, but wants a Sat. dinner for us they can figure out a seperate cost for that! He really is not trying to ruin any plans and wants to work with us. I told him I was a little grumpy he picked this year :) I say we still plan on all of our stuff and then who ever wants to make it to the rest, my dad can work with us! Hope this helps. Ruthy...call me!

  7. Deanne that is awesome! I was going to call and see if its possible for us to use the Middle School Cafeteria for a Saturday night dinner. I figured thats where we did most of our stuff anyways! We were only in the new HS one year! I will keep you posted on the location. We still have Casa reserved to do the catering so now we just need to find a location. Thats good that your dad will adjust the cost for us! I'm thinking cause your dad is planning so much that I'm only gonna worry about doing a dinner for just our class. Thanks for all your help!!!
